As you explore, keep an eye out for woodland birds, red squirrels, and seasonal wildflowers.
  • Heading Southwest (14km round trip): Glen Tanar is situated on the eastern edge of Scotland’s magnificent Cairngorms National Park, and encompasses 25,000 acres of breathtaking Highland landscape. From wild heather-covered moorlands and ancient Caledonian pine forests to the majestic flow of the River Dee, Glen Tanar offers an exceptional gateway to experience the very best of Scotland’s natural beauty.
  • Heading West (35km round trip): Ballater, nested at the eastern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park, is a premier destination for those drawn to Scotland’s natural beauty and rich royal heritage. Wander through Ballater’s charming Victorian village, where welcoming B&Bs, cosy restaurants, and a wide range of outdoor pursuits create the perfect Highland getaway. Visit the iconic Balmoral Castle, the Royal Family’s summer residence, and enjoy a taste of tradition at the nearby, award-winning Royal Lochnagar Distillery, where exclusive Highland whiskies await.
