Further Afield
Picking up a bike from Peterhead, access to the Formartine & Buchan Way is from York Street, just behind the Community & Leisure Centre.
As a traffic free route, the F&B way provides a great opportunity to take in the fresh air, savour views across Aberdeenshire and look out for the abundant wildlife as you cycle the route. (Note –there are one or two sections where you must cross a main road)
- Mintlaw (30km round trip): Pop into a café on your way for an energy boost! Once in Mintlaw, take a wander around Pitfour Estate, a very scenic spot with a lake frequented by swans. On the other side of the road, visit the craft shop after having a cycle around Aden Country Park, which has been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award every year for the last ten years.
Whether you choose your own route around town or explore the Formartine & Buchan Way, be sure to make time to take a break at any one of the cafes or pubs, or try fish and chips using fish landed right here in Peterhead!
